Introduction To GroupMAN Email Templates
GroupMAN has many automated responses that it sends out based on the commands it receives. For example when someone sends an email to your list with the word HELP on the subject line GroupMAN will send them back an email with the help.txt template.

GroupMAN templates can be edited to meet your needs either through notepad or through the List Administration GUI . Most people will find using the GUI is the easiest way to modify your GroupMAN email templates. GroupMAN templates are extremely customizable and the internal variable system will allow you to insert dynamic data into the outgoing emails as needed.

Editing Templates.
T he List Administration GUI allows you to edit the default templates that are predefined for GroupMAN. By default GroupMAN has an extensive set of template for use with the current email command set. To open the Template Editor click on the TEMPLATES Button on the List Administration GUI. A screen similar to the following should pop up:

The left pane is all of the available templates for the list you are working with. To select a template to edit simply click the filename. An explanation of what the template is for appears at the bottom of the editor window.

To make changes simply begin typing, you changes are automatically saved for you. If you would like to include dynamic data such as the Time, Date or other related information you can insert GroupMAN variables. You can type these variables in manually or right click for a complete list of available variables.

Creating New Templates
If you begin to customize GroupMAN and begin creating new ACTION COMMANDS you may come to a point where you need to create a new template. Templates are simply text files that can be created in notepad, wordpad or some other ASCII text editor. Simply copy your new template(s) into your list templates folder. If you are not sure where your list template folder is you can double check in the List Options dialog.

Once you copy your template into your list's templates folder it will appear in the template editor.
