Subscriber Based Administration...

List subscribers are offered a variety of commands which can be defined and redefined. A variety of subscriber commands have been predefined in the action script, mactions.txt (found in your lists directory). These commands can be modified or added to to meet your needs.

Below refers to the commands available to subscribers by default.

POSTING A MESSAGE TO THE LIST
Once you are subscribed to the discussion group you may post messages by sending your messages to your list email address.


OTHER FEATURES
Aside from functioning as a discussion forum, The list management software allows the group to share files in a file repository,
add tasks, reminders and more. A list of additional functions are explained below. Most functions are performed by sending
emails to the list with the desired command(s) in the subject line of the message.



SUBSCRIPTIONS:


SUBSCRIBE TO A THE LIST
To subscribe to a group send a blank email to your list email address with the subject: SUBSCRIBE

UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THE LIST
To unsubscribe to a group send a blank email to your list email address with the subject: UNSUBSCRIBE


TO GET HELP WITH COMMANDS
To get a list of commands (this file) send a blank email to your list email address with the subject: HELP

For a quick reference contianing all the available commands and their usage, send a blank email to your list email address with the subject: REFCARD


DIGEST MODE:
A digest subscription sends you a single message each day containing all of the messages sent to the list during the day instead of sending each message individually.

You can set your subscription to a DIGEST subscription. by sending a blank email to your list email address with the subject: DIGEST-ON

To resume a normal subscription send a blank email with the subject: DIGEST-OFF




FILE REPOSITORY FUNCTIONS


TO GET A CATALOG OF THE REPOSITORY
To get a catalog of files available from the repository send a blank email to your list email address with GET-CATALOG
in the subject line.

TO ORDER A FILE
To order one of these files send an email to your list email address with GET-FILE:{FILENUMBER} in the subject line. Replace
{FILENUMBER} with the document number.


TO ADD A FILE:
To Add a file to the repository send the file as an attachment with the word ADDFILE in the subject line. You may optionally
include a description of the file in the body of the message.


TO UPDATE A FILE:
To update an existing file and send it to the list send the file as an attachment for the subject of the message use:
UPDATE-FILE:{DOCUMENT NUMBER}

Replace {DOCUMENT NUMBER} with the document number found in the repository catalog. You may optionally include
a description of the file in the body of the message. Some lists may only allow the person who originally
posted the file to make updates to it.


TO SEND A FILE TO A NON-SUBSCRIBER:
If allowed you may send a file to a person who is not subscribed to the list. to do this, use the following syntax for the subject of the message:
GIVE-FILE:{DOCUMENT NUMBER} {ADDRESS}

Replace {DOCUMENT NUMBER} with the document number found in the repository catalog. Replace {ADDRESS} with the email
address of the person you wish to send the file to.




REMINDERS


TO HAVE A REMINDER SENT TO EVERYONE ON YOUR MAILING LIST ON A CERTAIN DATE
To have a reminder sent to the whole list, Email your list email address with the subject line syntax of:
REMIND-ALL:{MM-DD-YYYY}

Replace {MM-DD-YYYY} with the date you want the reminder sent on. The valid format of the date is MM-DD-YYYY,
however, GroupMAN will attempt to read the date in any format.

Place the reminder text/description in the body of the message.


TO HAVE A REMINDER SENT TO YOU ON A CERTAIN DATE
To have a reminder sent to only you (not the whole list), Email your list email address with the subject line syntax of:
REMIND-ME:{MM-DD-YYYY}

Replace {MM-DD-YYYY} with the date you want the reminder sent to you on. The valid format of the date is MM-DD-YYYY,
however, GroupMAN will attempt to read the date in any format.

Place the reminder text/description in the body of the message.
