So now you have created your first list and you are sitting in front of the
List Administration GUI.
What Now?
• Reload The GroupMAN Agent/Scheduler Configuration
• Send A Message To Your List
Reload The Configuration of
The Agent/Scheduler so that your new list is processed.
First, Restart the GroupMAN agent/scheduler.
If the scheduler isn't already running either in your system tray or as a Win
NT/2k service, you can start it or install it as a service directly from the
List Administration GUI . The option to start
it can be found under MAILER->GROUPMAN AGENT. You can select
how you would like to run the Agent. You may install it as a service or run
it normal (in the system tray).

If the agent is already running in your system tray you can simply right click the icon and select RELOAD CONFIGURATION. If you are running the agent as a Win NT/2K service you may restart the service or wait until next time you reboot for the new list to be added to the scheduler.

Send Your First Message to Your List.
The first thing you want to do once you have confirmed that your
list has been added to the scheduler is to send a message to your list address.
It is a good idea that the first message you send to your list is a request
for the mailer commands. This first message you send should be sent from the
LIST OWNER's email address.
For your first message, send an email to your list with the word HELP
on the subject line. Once GroupMAN processes your
message it should send you back a list of general
email based commands. if you don't want to wait for the GroupMAN schedule
to automatically process your list, you can force the list to be processed through
the MAILER menu in the GUI.
You may also want to try sending a blank email with the word ADMIN-HELP
(hyphenated) in the subject line. Once processed, GroupMAN will send you a list
of email based administration commands that can only be issued from the
list owner.
Next, you may want to send a normal test message to the list.
By default, the list owner is added to the subscribers list. Once processed
GroupMAN will distribute the message to everyone subscribed to the list.
The email based command system will allow you to perform a variety
of administration tasks such as adding subscribers,
removing subscribers, banning subscribers, etc. The flexibility of GroupMAN's
ACTION SCRIPTS allows you to add additional
email based administration commands to meet your particular needs.
